- January 17 (Saturday), 10 am
Landscape Design at Skylands: A Historical Perspective. Join Head Landscape Gardener Rich Flynn for a slide program on the history of garden design at Skylands, originally created by some of the most famous landscaping names of the era. The program will be held in the Carriage House, and cancels only in the event of an ongoing snowstorm. $3 Donation.
February
- February 22 (Sunday), 10 am-1 pm
ADK Winter Hike. Enjoy the quiet beauty of winter on a hike at the Botanical Garden under the expert guidance of members of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK). Come prepared with sturdy hiking shoes, water, and lunch. This will be a moderate hike with ups-and-downs, and some terrain may be rugged. Heavy snow cancels, but snow on the ground won't stop our hardy hikers. Meet at the Carriage House. $3 Donation.
March

- March 21 (Saturday), 10 am
Winter Tree Walk. Join Rich Flynn of the State Garden Staff as he leads this perennial favorite. Learn the differences between trees and how to tell them apart in this special tree walk. Rain/snow date: March 28, 10a. $3 Donation.
April

Volunteer Lunch. Our special Thank You to our volunteers. By invitation only.

Early Spring Wildflower Walk. Join Nancy Bristow in checking out the early bloomers in the Wildflower Garden! Wear comfortable shoes. Rain or snow cancels. $3 Donation.
May
- May 1 (Friday), 6:30 pm
Plant Sale - Members' Preview & Reception. We thank our members each year with an invitation to the special pre-opening of our annual Plant Sale. You'll love the array of unusual specimens! NJBG members only.
- May 2 (Saturday), 10 am-4 pm
Plant Sale. Perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs. Trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers. Hanging baskets and potted plants. Knowledgeable Master Gardeners will be on hand to offer advice, and the plants are lush and healthy. Come early for the best selection. Free admission.
- May 3 (Sunday), 10 am-4 pm

Lilac Garden Splendor. The Lilac Garden's large collection of these sweetscented and prolific spring beauties is in the peak of bloom. Members of NJBG's Lilac team will be in this part of the Garden to show you around and answer any questions you might have. Free.
- May 16 (Saturday), 10 am
Spring Wildflower Walk. What a difference a month makes! Join Nancy Bristow in checking out the full blush of spring in the Wildflower Garden. Wear comfortable shoes. Steady rain cancels. $3 Donation.
- May 16-17 (Saturday-Sunday)
Wildflower Weekend. Come take a walk among the flowers! The Wildflower Garden is at its best, with bright pink Japanese Primroses lining the paths. The big, showy blooms in the Rhododendron Garden are a sight to behold. Free.
June

YOUR GARDEN
Come visit often for a constantly-changing display of color and bloom sure to cheer your heart. The Botanical Garden is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm Garden admission is always free. $5 per car parking fee on summer weekends and holidays. Weekday parking is free.
[GS] GARDEN SATURDAYS
Our interesting and varied program series offers you a brand-new adventure on Saturday mornings.
MANOR TOURS
...are offered on Sunday afternoons, March through November (3/2, 4/6, 5/4, 6/1, 7/13, 8/3, 9/7, 10/5, and 11/2/2008). Docents lead visitors on a descriptive tour of the beautiful and historic Manor House. $5 adults, $3 seniors $1 (6-18), Free under 6.
GIFT SHOP
Sunday afternoons from 12 noon-4 pm, April through December (weather permitting). Great gift ideas, shirts, books, garden supplies, and children's items. Credit cards accepted.
HIKE & BIKE
Always a pleasure on the Garden's many safe and beautiful hiking & biking trails.
VOLUNTEER IN THE GARDEN
NJBG volunteers help maintain the gardens, give tours, and offer many other public services. To volunteer, inquire at the office. We'd love to have you!
PLEASE REMEMBER...
Skylands is a carry-in, carry-out State Park facility. Please carry your trash and litter back out with you and dispose of it properly.
