Programs are free unless otherwise noted. Donations are gratefully accepted. For events that require reservations, or for questions, please call the NJBG office at (973) 962-9534.

All events begin or take place at the Carriage House Visitor Center unless otherwise specified.

State Park Parking Fee: On summer Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, there is a State Park parking fee of $5 for New Jersey-registered vehicles and $7 for non-New Jersey-registered vehicles. Oversized vehicles (vehicles that occupy more than one normal parking space, including vehicles with trailers, RVs, etc.) are charged double the normal rate. At all other times, parking is free.

Skylands is a carry-in, carry-out State Park facility. Please carry your trash and litter back out with you and dispose of it properly.

Remember, no pets, picnics, alcohol, balls, frisbees, nor lawn games are permitted in the Botanical Garden.

Free Guided Garden Tours - Sundays, 2 p.m., May through October. Steady rain cancels. Meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center and wear comfortable shoes.

  • October 1-2 (Saturday-Sunday), 10 am-5 pm
    Harvest Fest. Hayrides and pumpkin painting are just the start of a fun-filled family weekend. There'll be games, face painting, applesauce making, tasty food, music, and dancing, great photo ops, free Garden tours, booths, an autumn Plant Sale and lots more! Free parking & admission.
    Hosted by NJBG and the Ringwood Chamber of Commerce.
  • October 9 (Sunday), 11 am-3 pm
    Skylands Manor Tours. NJBG volunteer docents lead visitors on a tour of the architecture and history of Skylands Manor. Fee: $7 adults; $5 seniors and students ages 13-18; $3 ages 6-12; free under 6.
  • October 15 (Saturday), 10 am
    Spring Bulb Planting. Bring the whole family and help us plant more daffodils in the Botanical Garden, where spring comes early in a burst of bright yellow. Bring gloves and small tools if you have them. No experience necessary. Free.
  • October 15 (Saturday), 2 pm
    Carriage House Concert: Arlon Bennett. Timeless songs that evoke a little Harry CHapin and maybe vintage James Taylor. In the Carriage House Visitor Center. (Visit Arlon Bennett's website.) Click here to purchase advance tickets. Tickets: $15 in advance + $1.75 per ticket handling fee. $18 day of show at the door, subject to availability. Limited to the first 75 responders.

  • October 16 (Sunday), 1 pm
    Family Woodland Hike. An easy, child-friendly hike in the Garden's woodlands where you'll learn a bit about the plants and animals around you in a hike designed to fit the group. Small children may need to be carried. Wear sturdy shoes, meet at the Carriage House Visitor Center. Rain cancels. Free.
  • October 22 (Saturday), 2 pm
    Design Tips for Traffic-Stopping Curb Appeal. This eye-opening presentation will cover easy-to-implement design steps for enhancing your home's curb appeal. Included will be top-performing perennials, annuals, flowering shrubs, evergreens and ornamental trees for head-turning foundation beds. Nationally known speaker and author Kerry Mendez has over 25 years of experience and is a 'passionate perennialist' who enjoys mixing humor with practical information. SEATING IS LIMITED and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. $5 donation requested.

Come visit often for a constantly-changing display of color and bloom sure to cheer your heart. The Botanical Garden is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm Garden admission is always free. $5 per New Jersey-registered car parking fee on summer weekends and holidays (weekends, Memorial Day to Labor Day), $7 for out-of-state registered cars. Oversized vehicles (including trailers and RVs) pay double. Weekday parking is free.

...are offered on Sunday afternoons, March through November. Knowledgeable docents will introduce you to the architecture and history of beautiful Skylands Manor. Adults: $7; Seniors: $5; Students 13-18: $5; Children 6-12: $3; Under 6: Free. Please check the calendar for exact dates and times.

Sunday afternoons from 12 noon-4 pm, April through December (weather permitting). Great gift ideas, shirts, books, garden supplies, and children's items. Credit cards accepted.

Always a pleasure on the Garden's many safe and beautiful hiking & biking trails.

Our easy, child-friendly walks one Sunday afternoon each month are a great way to explore nature. Free.

NJBG volunteers help maintain the gardens, give tours, and offer many other public services. To volunteer, inquire at the office or call (973) 962-9534. We'd love to have you!
