All events begin or take place at the Carriage House Visitor Center unless otherwise specified.
There is a $5.00 per car State Park parking fee on summer Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. At all other times, parking is free.
Skylands is a carry-in, carry-out State Park facility. Please carry your trash and litter back out with you and dispose of it properly.
Remember, no pets, picnics, alcohol, balls, frisbees, nor lawn games are permitted in the Botanical Garden.

- December 5-8 (Thursday-Sunday), 10 am-4 pm daily
Holiday Open House at Skylands Manor. Skylands Manor will glitter and shine with holiday splendor, with a totally different look to celebrate our 25th year! Purchase tickets at the door. Adults: $8; Seniors: $7; Children 6-12: $5; Under 6: Free. No baby strollers allowed in the Manor. Last ticket sold at 4 pm.
- December 6-7 (Friday-Saturday), 6 pm-8 pm
Champagne & Candlelight Evening Tours. The Manor will be yours for a leisurely stroll with champagne, light refreshments and valet parking. Reservations required. $35/members. Reservations required. Members: $35; Guests and non-members: $40. Individual, Senior, and Student members may buy 1 ticket for any evening at the special member price, Family and other member categories may buy 2 tickets at the special member price. - December 15 (Sunday), 1 pm
Family Winter Hike. An easy, child-friendly hike in the Garden's woodlands. Learn a bit about the plants, animals, and geology around you in a hike designed to fit the group. Wear sturdy shoes, meet at the Carriage House. Rain or sow cancels. FREE.
- January 1 (Wednesday), 1 pm
First Day Hike. Join members of NJBG and the State Park staff on an easy, child-friendly hike in the Garden's woodlands. We'll join nature lovers hiking all around the country to celebrate our beautiful state parks. Our hike in and around the Botanical Garden will be designed to fit the group. Wear sturdy shoes, meet at the Carriage House. Snow cancels. FREE.
- January 5 (Sunday), 11 am-3 pm
Storytelling in Skylands Manor. (Sessions at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.). [GS] Storyteller Anne Kahwaty will lead youngsters ages 3-8 on a fun-filled storytime adventure in historic Skylands Manor 2 Sessons: 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, each limited to 20 children. Reservation requested at 973-962-9534,. Donation: $5 per child. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, but one adult admission is free.xxxxxx.
- January 18 (Saturday), 10 am
Landscape Design at Skylands: A Historical perspective. [GS] Join Head Landscape Designer Rich Flynn for a slide program on the history of garden design at Skylands, originally created by some of the most famous landscaping names of the ear. The program will be held in the Carriage House, and canels only in the event of an ongoing snowstorm. $5 donation requested.
- January 22 (Wednesday), 6 pm-8 pm
MRCC Super Community Spirit Showcase. Visit the NJBG table at this fun event sanctioned by the Super Bowl Host Committee and sponsored by the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce. There'll be football players to meet for inspiration, photos, and autographs, great prizes, refreshments, and 100 regional non-profit organizations showing off their fine work. The event will be held at the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel. Admission is $25 per person, $30 at the door. Tickets available at mahwah.com (new window).
- February 2 (Sunday), 11 am-3 pm
Skylands Manor Tours - Membership Day. Our Valentine's Day gift to you! As a special 'thank you,' NJBG members are invited to enjoy a complimentary tour of historic Skylands Manor. Non-members are invited, too, with special BOGO tickets to celebrate the day. After the tour, please join us for light refreshments in the Carriage House. TOurs are led by knowledgeable NJBG docents. Snowstorm cancels. FREE for NJBG members: Iindividual, senior, and student members receive 1 free ticket. Family and other member categories receive 2 free tickets. Non-members: Buy one, get one admission of equal or lesser value for free.
- February 23 (Sunday), 1 pm
Return of the Raptors. [GS] Don Torino of the Bergen County Audubon Society offers an indoor photo presentation on the dramatic return of Bald Eagles, Osprey, Peregrine Falcons, and other fascinating birds of prey, touching on the many different species that inhabit our region. FREE.
- March 23 (Sunday), 1 pm
End-of-Winter Tree Walk. [GS] Join Head Landscape Designer Rich Flynn as he leads this perennial favorite. Learn the differences between trees and how to tell them apart in this special tree walk. Meet at the Carriage House, weare sturdy, comfortable shoes. FREE.

Come visit often for a constantly-changing display of color and bloom sure to cheer your heart. The Botanical Garden is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm Garden admission is always free. $5 per car parking fee on summer weekends and holidays. Weekday parking is free.

Our interesting and varied program series offers you a brand-new adventure on Saturday mornings.
...are offered on Sunday afternoons, March through November. Knowledgeable docents will introduce you to the architecture and history of beautiful Skylands Manor. Adults: $7; Seniors: $5; Students 13-18: $5; Children 6-12: $3; Under 6: Free. Please check the calendar for exact dates and times.
Sunday afternoons from 12 noon-4 pm, April through December (weather permitting). Great gift ideas, shirts, books, garden supplies, and children's items. Credit cards accepted.

FAMILY WOODLAND WALK
Our easy, child-friendly walks one Sunday afternoon each month are a great way to explore nature. Free.
VOLUNTEER IN THE GARDEN
NJBG volunteers help maintain the gardens, give tours, and offer many other public services. To volunteer, inquire at the office. We'd love to have you!
