
Rhododendron Spp.
The name, rhododendron, comes from Ancient Greece for rose tree. They are extensively hybridized and can be cultivated as shrubs or trees. Many are evergreen. Rhododendrons prefer acid soils with a pH of 4.5–5.5. and their fibrous roots prefer well drained soil. They can be propagated by air-layering or stem cuttings, or they can self-propagate by sending up shoots from the roots.
