White Fringe Tree

Chionanthus virginicus

White fringe tree

Fringe tree is easily grown in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. A native tree from New Jersey south to Florida and west to Oklahoma and Texas, fragrant late-spring blossoms signal the onset of summer. It grows in full sun to part shade and makes a good urban tree since it is tolerant of air pollution and adapts well to urban settings.
