
NJBG – Public Notice

Governor Murphy’s announcement of Executive Order 133 allows NJ State parks and forests to begin the process of reopening.
At this time, only trails, roads and boat launches will open at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 for passive recreation with safe social distancing.
All buildings and facilities will remain closed to the public including interpretive centers, visitor centers, and our historic structures – however the public restrooms in the NJBG Carriage House are now open.
Please be aware of the following directives as we begin the first phase of our reopening:
– Organization and volunteers may work in a solitary manner at site buildings following the guidelines below.
– Please drive in separate vehicles and observe safe, social distancing guidelines when working in group
– Face coverings are strongly recommended but not mandatory.
– There is no public access to buildings – however the public restrooms in the NJBG Carriage House are now open.
– Family groups of 10 or less only in the parks and forests are permitted
– Until further notice, all public programs, events, tours, special use permits, etc., remain cancelled until the end of May. Park operations will be reviewed regularly, and you will be apprised of changes.
– NJ State Park Police are enforcing the Governor’s policies to maintain residents’ safety. Please call 1-877-WARNDEP if you encounter an emergency. Otherwise, notify your respective Superintendent/contact of all issues immediately.
